Terms of Use – Story Genie Books

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Story Genie Books website and services operated by Story Genie AI LLC (“Story Genie,” “we,” or “us”). By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

Story Genie is intended for adults age 18 or older. Only adults may:

Create accounts
Submit payment information
Provide personalization details for a child
Approve the use or storage of child personalization information

We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to interact directly with our service.

Use of Story Genie confirms you are an adult and responsible for any information provided on behalf of a child.

Custom Children’s Books and Personalization

Our service allows adults to personalize printed children’s books. Personalization details may include a child’s name, age, traits, or an optional photo to ensure accuracy.

Adults are responsible for:

The accuracy and lawfulness of submitted information
Confirming spelling, names, and details before purchase
Ensuring personalization is appropriate for inclusion in a children’s book

Once a book begins production, personalization details cannot be changed.

Order Fulfillment

When an order is placed, we use the submitted personalization details to design, print, and ship the book. Accurate shipping information is required.

Estimated delivery timeframes may vary and are dependent on printing and shipping carriers. We will communicate delays when possible, but delays outside our control are not grounds for automatic refunds.

Refunds and Issue Resolution

Because produced books are unique and personalized for each customer, refund or replacement requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, defective, or materially different from what was submitted, contact support@storygeniebooks.com and we will review the request and work toward a fair resolution.

We may request photos or additional details to verify an issue.

User Content Responsibility

All personalization details, including text, photos, traits, and descriptive inputs submitted by adults, are considered “User Content.”

You confirm that User Content:

Is lawful and does not infringe on the rights of others
Is appropriate for inclusion in a children’s book
Does not violate these Terms or applicable law
Is provided voluntarily and with authority to do so

We may refuse, modify, or cancel a book containing content that is unlawful or inappropriate.

Personal Use License

Printed Story Genie Books are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, resell, distribute, or commercially exploit Story Genie designs, illustrations, layouts, or stories without written permission.

Digital previews, characters, layouts, and printed materials are Story Genie intellectual property.

Privacy and Parental Rights

Our handling of personalization information, child data rights, retention rules, and deletion procedures are described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

By using our service or placing an order, you acknowledge acceptance of both the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Fictional Characters Disclaimer

All stories, characters, places, events, and illustrations created by Story Genie are fictional. Any resemblance to real persons (living or deceased), actual events, or existing fictional characters is purely coincidental.

User-submitted personalization details may cause incidental resemblance, which is not intended to depict real individuals.

Intellectual Property

The Story Genie website, illustrations, design templates, narrative content, characters, layouts, and related creative materials are protected intellectual property.

You agree not to:

Copy, scrape, or redistribute Story Genie content
Reproduce printed books for commercial purposes
Modify or reverse engineer any part of the service
Use Story Genie content without written permission

Ownership of intellectual property remains with Story Genie at all times.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Story Genie service and products are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We disclaim implied warranties, guarantees, or fitness for a particular purpose.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or business interruption.
Our total liability related to a specific order will not exceed the amount paid for that order.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Story Genie from any claims, losses, or damages resulting from:

Misuse of the service
Violation of these Terms
Submission of unlawful or inappropriate User Content
Infringement of third-party rights arising from personalization details you submit

Service Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or portions of the service without notice. We are not liable for interruptions caused by hosting providers, printing delays, shipping carriers, or third-party infrastructure.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service at our discretion if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or submit inappropriate content.

Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute arising from your use of Story Genie will be resolved in the courts of Dallas County, Texas.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as our service or legal requirements evolve. Updated Terms will be posted on this page and apply immediately to future use.
